For the Best Results:
-
Shake Well: Shake the can vigorously for at least 2 minutes to ensure the metallic pigment is fully suspended and mixed. You should hear the agitator ball moving freely. This is particularly important for metallic paints.
-
Warm Gently: If the can feels cold, stand it in a container of warm (not hot!) water for a few minutes. Keep the water level below the nozzle area. This improves paint flow, especially in cooler conditions.
-
Test Spray: Briefly spray onto a piece of scrap material to ensure an even flow and pigment distribution.
-
Apply: Hold the can approximately 15-25 cm (6-10 inches) away from the model. Apply using short, even passes, moving across the model. Aim for thin coats – this is especially important with metallics to avoid obscuring detail. It's better to apply two thin coats than one thick one. Allow drying time between coats if needed.
-
Clear Nozzle: After use, turn the can upside down and spray for a few seconds until only clear propellant comes out. This helps prevent nozzle blockages for next time.
