Pre-painted Foldable Matched Play Terrain for Competitive Warhammer 40,000

This foldable pre-painted Matched Play Terrain is designed for competitive Warhammer 40,000 games, offering dependable line-of-sight blocking, high shooting positions, and clean, consistent footprints for modern competitive tables. They’re a great choice for demanding players, tournament organizers, associations, and wargaming clubs looking for terrain that is quick to set up, easy to transport, and visually professional from the first game. They also work perfectly with other 28–32mm sci-fi skirmish and wargames such as Kill Team, Necromunda, Infinity, Deadzone, Core Space, Stargrave, and Zombicide: Invader.

This set includes all the terrain pieces required to build the full range of standard Tournament Terrain Layouts: all the necessary U-shaped buildings, the 8 low walls, and 4 small L-shaped ruins—assemble two as left-facing Ls and two as right-facing Ls (once glued, their orientation is fixed). Large L ruins, on the other hand, are typically glued in a single orientation and can be used as either a left or right L simply by rotating the entire piece 180° when placing it on the table. For maximum flexibility and to always have every possible layout combination available, we recommend purchasing 6 additional Large L ruins and assembling them in the opposite orientation to your first 6.

Each ruin is fully pre-painted by elves with a high level of detail, featuring neutral sci-fi tones and weathering effects that fit any Warhammer 40k army and battlefield theme—after assembly, they’re ready to play straight out of the box.

These matched play ruins require a simple initial assembly, for which we recommend PVA glue. This adhesive works especially well with MDF wood and ensures strong but flexible joints, ideal for repeated folding. We do not recommend cyanoacrylate, as it may damage painted surfaces and can become brittle with long-term use.

The design is reversible, allowing you to assemble the L-shape facing left or right depending on your layout and tactical needs. This extra flexibility makes it easy to mirror terrain setups, adjust firing lanes, and keep placements consistent across games. Please note that once permanently glued, the ruin will remain in the chosen left- or right-facing configuration.

To keep boards from looking identical, the kit includes optional breakaway wall sections with pre-cut break zones. Leave them intact for a clean, competitive look, or open the break points to add battle damage and variation—customization is quick and completely optional.

This pre-painted terrain is made from durable MDF wood, and it helps you upgrade your table immediately: competitive function, great visuals, and effortless transport.
